Manchester United: Jose Mourinho told to pick Henrikh Mkhitaryan to revive faltering season

JAMIE REDKNAPP believes Henrikh Mkhitaryan holds the key to Manchester United's fortunes.

Mkhitaryan has failed to make an impression since signing from Borussia Dortmund for £27million in the summer.

The Armenia international's absence has been just one of many lowlights from Jose Mourinho's first season - with fans despairing at his lack of action.

And Redknapp believes that Manchester United, whose draw against Arsenal on Saturday saw them fall nine points behind league leaders Chelsea, can benefit from his inclusion.

Mkhitaryan – we’ve still not seen him this season," he told Sky Sports after Saturday's game.

"I’m not sure if he’s injured again, but somehow it feels like they’ve got to get him back in the team again.”

Mkhitaryan has played just 133 minutes for United following his summer arrival.
It is a stark contrast to his time in the Bundesliga with Dortmund, where he weighed in with 23 goals and contributed 32 assists last season.

However, Mkhitaryan is expected to feature when they face Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday.

Mourinho is expected to ring the changes despite knowing a defeat would plunge his side into further crisis.
