Leicester ity: Claudio Ranieri opens up about retirement ahead of Crystal Palace clash

PREMIER LEAGUE pensioner Claudio Ranieri has no plans to retire despite hitting 65.
The Leicester boss claims he will keep managing at least until he is 70 and has no date in mind to quit the dugout.

Ranieri turned 65 yesterday, he has no intention of slowing down.

“No, why?” said the Italian, who led the Foxes to last season’s Premier League title.

“Until I feel an old man, I will keep going.

“I will continue as long as I enjoy it and feel good. For me it is my life, my job.

“I want to continue for a long time. At 35 I said, ‘at 50 I will finish’.

“But then at 50 I said ‘Why now? Why 55?’.

“Then I went five years by five, step by step. I am 65, now I will go to 70.

The life is fantastic, every job is difficult, but it is important to be strong inside, because you don’t know what happens in life.

“You can go down but if you are strong you can wake up again.”

Ranieri is sweating on the fitness of striker Jamie Vardy (groin), captain Wes Morgan (hip) and midfielder Matty James (shin) for Saturday’s Premier League game at home to Crystal Palace.

But he is hopeful that all three will be available.

All three missed training today but are expected to rejoin their team-mates tomorrow.
