Reports: Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho still wants to sell Wayne Rooney

JOSE MOURINHO is looking to offload England skipper Wayne Rooney as he remains unconvinced that he has got a long-term future at Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho is ready to make massive changes to his squad after watching his under performing stars struggle for large parts of this season.

Manchester United went into the international break eight points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool and have already been written off as title contenders.

Mourinho is planning to make eight changes when the transfer window opens in January and there are likely to be more to follow at the end of the season.

Wayne Rooney has struggled to hold down a regular first team place at United this season since Mourinho took control from Dutchman Luis Van Gaal.

And the 31 year-old who is under contract to United has already turned down a £300,000 a week offer from China Super League club Beijng Guoan.

Mourinho won’t stand in his way if he wants to accept an offer from China or even the MLS where he has attracted interest of LA Galaxy.

Rooney is within two goals of Sir Bobby Charlton’s club record of 249 goals will be the target of more interest if he remains on the fringes of Mourinho’s squad.
