Arsenal 6 - Ludogorets 0: Mesut Ozil hat-trick helps Gunners cruise pass opponent

MESUT OZIL scored his first ever professional hat-trick as Arsenal thrashed Ludogorets at the Emirates.
The Gunners started well and should have been ahead through Theo Walcott, but the England international opted to cross instead of shoot and Ludogorets were able to clear the ball.

But they went ahead soon after when Alexis Sanchez produced a stunning chip over Vladislav Stoyanov and into the far corner from the edge of the box.

At the other end David Ospina was called into action after Shkodran Mustafi misjudged a cross, and the goalkeeper came out fast to smother at the feet of Virgil Misidjan and avert the danger.

Ludogorets then went close through Wanderson, but despite having Ospina beaten, the Brazilian's low shot flicked the base of the post and crept wide.

But Arsenal doubled their lead when Walcott smashed a curling shot past Stoyanov form 25-yards.

The Gunners put the game out of sight early in the second half when Kieran Gibbs’ low cross was deflected into the path of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who slotted home from 12 yards out.

Mesut Ozil added a fourth with half hour to go, slotting home calmly after a quick counter attack following a brilliant tackle from Laurent Koscielny.

And the German World Cup winner grabbed his second and Arsenal's fifth in the last 10 minutes, placing the ball into the net to after Lucas Perez's cross.

Ozil still had time to score his third as he smashed home a volley from inside the area to seal the win.
