JESUS IS LORD: CHILDREN OF HIS COVENANT TEXT: Genesis 17:7

In Gen 17:7 God said to Abraham And I will establish my between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an evalasting covenantt, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
Since we are all descendants of Abraham and we all want Abraham blessings, it means that God has stablished an everlasting covenant between us and Him .

What is a covenant? Covenant is a legal term meaning an agreement that is binding on both parties. That agreement has subject and considerations; it also has consequences for the breach of agreement. Starting from the time of Adam and Eve, you will realise that God always like to deal with man in agreement or covenant.

Do not eat this fruit and if you breach this covenant, this will be the consequence. Unfortunately Adam and Eve breached the agreement and we are facing the consequence up till today and generations unborn will also face a similar consequence.

However, major difference between covenant of God and covenant of man is that covenant of God is from everlasting to everlasting while that of man is between man and man with the exception of spiritual blood and evil covenant of our fore fathers that is having consequences on us up till today.

These are generally referred to as Ancestral curses. I pray that any curse on anyone us from whichever generation shall be destroyed totally in Jesus name.

God signed everlasting covenant with Abraham which is passed on from seed to seed i.e generation to generation. This agreement has the following elements which is usual with all agreements:
1. Parties to the covenant.
2. Specified territories and areas of concern.
3. A reason for its existence, an AIM.
4. Rules, provisions and conditions.
5. Outcomes, benefits and penalties. In spiritual language these are called blessings and curses.

In actual fact, every prophesy in the Bible today are confessions of the everlasting covenant. Let me briefly go through the above and I believe that digging deep, faith clinic and sermon will dwell more on the subject.

Parties to the agreement are

The Almighty God of Israel and His Son on the one hand
And all true believers who choose to accept God's terms of salvation on the other. These believers, and they include those who have put their faith in Jesus, are referred to in scripture as "Israelites," "spiritual Jews" or the "offspring of Abraham." (Romans 2:28-29, Galations 3:29, Romans 11:16-21).

The Territory of the Everlasting Covenant.
Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be."Deut 11:24. Rom 4:13:

For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. In other words, the territory which the Everlasting Covenant encompasses is the entire universe. It will stretch from this age to age for all time and through all space - to the uttermost oceans of time and space.

The Aim of the Everlasting Covenant.
This fact is mentioned by Jesus, in his famous sermon on the mount when he said: God's ultimate objective in designing the Everlasting Covenant is that His children, His followers become absolutely perfect as He is perfect.

It is currently not possible for the Most High, the holy, sinless God to abide with mankind. We are sinful; and a holy God cannot abide with sin anywhere near Him. We must first be cleansed, totally cleansed from every vestige of sin before we can ever hope to come and dwell in God's holy presence. Matt 5:48.

The whole plan of salvation is simply a means to that end. In short, the aim of the Everlasting Covenant is that the redeemed host will reach a state of absolute perfection in order that we may live with a perfect and holy God.

The Rules of the Everlasting Covenant
Every covenant worthy of its name has conditional clauses and rules which the parties involved agree upon. It is not possible to find a covenant anywhere on earth which doesn't contain rules or conditions.

The Everlasting Covenant is no exception. It also has rules. The rules and conditions in the Everlasting Covenant were designed and delivered by God Himself in the presence of billions of angels, millions of literal Israelites and thousands of believing foreigners.

These rules, God's law, were actually spoken by God Himself when He descended on mount Sinai in the desert of Arabia. Everyone present heard His voice as He delivered His law. Broadly speaking Yahweh's law can be divided into two categories:

• The which God spoke out loud to all Israel and then wrote with His own finger on stone tablet
Other commandments which He spoke and which later Moses wrote in a book. Exo 25:18, 1 King 8:9, Exo 19:5, Deut 4:13, Deut 9:9-15, Psalm 105:10.
Outcomes of the Everlasting Gospel.

In addition to its laws, the Everlasting Covenant has outcomes. Whether we realise or not these outcomes involve everyone who elects to become a believer in the Almighty and His Son. Briefly the two outcomes are blessings for obedience Deut 28:1-14, Psalm 103:17  and curses for disobedience Deut 28:15-30 Deut 29:18, Jere 11:3.

The Sign of the Everlasting Covenant.
The sign of the everlasting covenant is the fear of God and obedience to all His commandments including observing the Sabbath day a day of worship of God. Prov 9:10,  Ezek 20:12, Isaiah 66:22.

What does this mean for the average person? It means that every believer in the God of Israel, should pay special attention to the Everlasting Covenant.

The Everlasting Covenant, is everlasting. It exists at this very moment. To be sure most of Israel, to whom it was first given, broke and rejected its terms. But that didn't cause God to abandon His covenant with Abraham and his 'seed' which on the higher plane meant Jesus and his followers.

The Everlasting Covenant still exists. Its laws and provisions are also eternal. They will last for all time, through endless ages in the new heavens and the new earth. The Everlasting Covenant has been signed, sealed and ratified with the blood of Jesus. Ps 25:14, Isaiah 56:6-7,

If you are a true believer in Jesus Christ, then, according to the scriptures, you are a "child of Abraham" and are a party to this covenant. If you persist in disobey the consequence is in Deut 28:15-30, but if you obey, the result is in Deut 28:1-14.

Isaiah 55:3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an Everlasting Covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.
Brethren, the choice are now ours to partake of this Heavenly Convent so we can reap the immense benefits. May God grant us the grace and Strength to keep the terms of HIS Everlasting Covenant.

God bless you.
