After winning the Champions League twice at the helm of Barcelona, Guardiola won seven titles in his three-year tenure in Bavaria, and while the European crown evaded them, Manchester City recruited him in their bid for Continental glory.
“It’s the first big game of the season,” Bayern said announcing the July 20 clash in Munich, where they have promised star players Franck Ribery, Philipp Lahm, Arjen Robben and Xavi Alonso will all feature.
The 56-year-old Italian Ancelotti took over from Guardiola two weeks ago and has won the Champions League three times, in 2003 and 2007 with AC Milan and at Real Madrid in 2014.
