Nigeria: Alleged $40m Fraud: Ex President Jonathan’s Cousin, Robert Azibaola and his Wife Secures N1billion Bail.

ABUJA – The Abuja Division of the Federal High Court, yesterday granted bail to former President Goodluck Jonathan’s cousin, Robert Azibaola, and his wife, Stella, to the tune of N1billion.

The duo, who were arraigned before the court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, are answering to a seven-count criminal charge bordering on alleged $40million contract scam.

Justice Nnamdi Dimgba gave the defendants bail in the sum of N500 million each, and two sureties in like sum. Making it a total of N1 billion.

According to the court, the sureties must be owners of landed property within the Asokoro District of Abuja.
