French Open 2016 final: Andy Murray Ready for tough battle with Novak Djokovic

World No. 2 - Andy Murray will bid to win the third Grand Slam title of his career when he meets World No 1 Novak Djokovic in the final of the French Open.


The Brit is appearing in his first final at Roland Garros after delivering an impressive display to eliminate defending champion Stanislas Wawrinka in the last four.

Djokovic, 29, is vying to win the French Open, the only major to so far elude him, for the first time in his career.

He was imperious in straight sets wins over Tomas Berdych and Dominic Thiem in the quarter-finals and semi-finals respectively and is the favourite to win the trophy.

The French Open title has been dangling tantalisingly out of reach for Djokovic ever since he reached his first grand slam semi-final at the tournament nine years ago.

He has since amassed six Australian Open trophies, three Wimbledons and two US Open crowns, but at Roland Garros the closest he has come is three final defeats.

What time does the match start?
Djokovic vs Murray will start at 2pm (British time) on Sunday.
Where can I watch it?
The French Open final will be shown live on ITV 1 as well as Euro sport 1.

Coverage of the men's final begins at 1.30pm on ITV, while coverage on Eurosport, which will include the women's doubles final, starts at 10.30am.
