LIVERPOOOL RETURNS TO ENGLAND AFTER A DISAPPOINTING EUROPA LEAGUE DEFEAT BY SEVILLA

Jurgen Klopp and his entire Liverpool  squad have arrived back to Merseyside after being defeated 3-1 by Sevilla in the Europa League final.

The Liverpool Manager and his players cut forlorn figures as they stepped off the plane at John Lennon Airport. Jurgen Klopp was greeted with a kiss from his wife, Ulla, while Kenny and Marina Dalglish were also on hand to welcome the players back.

Liverpool’s loss against Sevilla, combined with Liverpool's finish of eighth in the Premier League, means there will be no European football under Jurgen Klopp in his first full season in charge at Anfield.

But the German vowed his Liverpool team would learn from the encounter with Sevilla and return a stronger outfit for the next campaign.

'Tomorrow, in a week or whatever we will see it a little bit more clearly and then we will use this experience,' Klopp said

'That’s what we have to do. Now it’s clear we are not in a European competition next year, it means no football on a Thursday and it means we have time to train.

'We will use it and we will come back stronger, that’s for sure. You saw on the way to the final we had a few moments where we maybe over-performed – we were unbelievable, great and the boys showed what they are capable of, but then to have this consistency you need a little bit more time.'

Daniel Sturridge gave Liverpool the lead in the first half of the clash against Unai Emery's team with a tremendous strike with the outside of his left foot in the 35th minute.

But Sevilla roared back in the second half, equalising in the 46th minute through Kevin Gameiro before taking charge of the match.

Sevilla captain Koke then scored twice in six minutes to take the game away from Klopp's men.
'For the first goal, usually it’s not good to concede a goal immediately after half-time but you have 44 minutes minimum to strike back, so what’s the problem? The reaction was the problem,' Klopp said.

'We all have to learn to react better in situations like this. This game, especially in my situation as the manager of the team, all you have to do is self-criticism. Nothing else. It’s all about us, it’s all about me.
'It’s my job to help the players react better in different situations, so I can improve a lot.'
