Barcelona Reveals New kit for 2016/17 - Lionel Messi And Team-Mates Showcases The new Kit- But There Is Something Missing.

Spain: Barcelona have returned to vertical stripes - but there is no sponsor on the new shirt this time.

The Club have revealed their new home strip for the 2016/17 season - and as reported last week it features NO shirt sponsor.
But it does reveal the club has returned to their vertical stripes kit.

Barcelona made the controversial switch to red and blue hoops at the start of this season, but after some traditionalists complained the club were always likely to return to their classic look.

Lionel Messi lines up alongside his fellow team-mates Sergio Busquets, Luis Suarez , Andres Iniesta, Neymar and Gerard Pique in the offical image of the new strip.

Barcelona are locked in discussions over a new sponsorship deal with Qatar Airways, but have still failed to seal a renewal even with the contract expiring in a month.

So for now, the shirt has been released with no sponsor - harking back to the days before the club sold their most valuable commercial real estate.
Talks have broken down several times and Barca were rumoured to be in discussions with Pepsi among others.

The kit is made by Nike, with the American sportswear giant having recently renewed their partnership with th club for a further 10 years at €100million a year.
