Athletic Madrid Manager- Diego Simeone takes a break in Ibiza with his model girlfriend ahead of Atletico Madrid’s showdown with Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
The highly sought after coach was pictured strolling towards the beach on the Spanish isle with his arm around fellow Argentinian Carla Pereira - who is 16 years his junior.
Diego Simeone guided Atletico to a third-place finish in La Liga - three points behind champions Barcelona - after a shock defeat by Levante in the penultimate game of the season, although the Simeone insists they achieved their self-imposed objective.
'The goal of being third was achieved. Year after year we work better competing with ourselves, with our own numbers,' he told reporters after victory over Celta Vigo is the final game of the season.
'Surely next year will be hard, because surpassing the numbers of this year will be difficult.
'It makes us happy to be fighting with the best in the world. Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich in the Champions League, speak for themselves.
'Finishing there, three points away from them leaves you with the feeling, on the one hand, that it's possible, the thing is that they are very good, without a doubt.
'Fernando has never complained about having to fight for his place,'' Simeone told a news conference.
'When I spoke to him I said I didn't want him to return as a club idol, but we needed him to be a team player and in the last four months he's played at a very high level.
'The two parties are starting to come together and we hope that everything is seen through the lens of performances. I focus on his performances, give my opinion and then the club work on it.''
